Why do I come in so frequently?
As with most things in life, consistency is key. Your health is no different. It takes consistent action over time to reap the benefits. We don’t go to the gym to exercise once and expect to have ‘6-pack abs’ for the rest of our life, nor does eating healthy for 2 weeks work for the rest of your life. You can’t expect one adjustment to fix years or even decades of stress and trauma. Therefore, the frequency and consistency of your adjustments is determined by how well your body is functioning and adapting to your daily stressors.
Why do children get adjusted?
When you see chiropractic as more than back pain, and you view it as keeping your nervous system in tip-top shape to stay healthy, its only appropriate that children get adjusted. Adjusting babies, young children + teens, ideally from birth, ensures any misalignments are addressed as soon as possible, allowing the body to function & adapt as it is designed to. Misalignments in children can occur for many reasons, but common culprits include: childbirth, accidents and/or falls, poor posture, sports/activities and stress.
It is never too early to teach our children how to take care of their body! It truly is our greatest asset.
Why lifetime care? Do I really have to be adjusted…forever?
No—just as long as you want to be healthy. :)
All humor aside, this is a discussion based on your progress after the initial phase of care. It is not mandatory; it is not a contract. We believe more than anything that you should always have a choice in what treatment you receive—especially when it comes to your health and well-being.
With that said, we do wholeheartedly believe lifetime chiropractic care is extremely beneficial. The Journal of Manipulative and Physiological Therapeutics reported that “patients who went to DCs (doctors of chiropractic) as their primary care providers had 43% decreases in hospital admissions, 52% reductions in pharmaceutical costs and 43% fewer outpatient surgeries and procedures.”
We see this as a proactive approach to health care that is PENNIES ON THE DOLLAR compared to the current health care model of drugs—often times ironically prescribed for a lifetime—and expensive surgeries. And trust us when we say, we know this from personal experience. It is not cheap being sick. We want more than anything for people to learn from what we went through. To preserve your health on the frontend is way easier and way, WAY cheaper than waiting for a crisis (real talk).
And not to sound like a broken record, but again, we not only want to see you get well, we want you to stay well…for a lifetime! Simple as that.
Do you take insurance?
This is a common and equally fair question. In short, we do not take insurance—with one exception: we do accept Medicare. We do this for one primary reason: YOU! Our purpose is to serve you, not your insurance company. We choose to have a patient-first, patient-focused approach. This allows us to do what’s best for you & your family, as well as make it affordable for everyone.
With that said, we are happy to provide you with the necessary information and documentation needed if you have out-of-network chiropractic benefits and if you so choose to bill your insurance yourself. This means that you would be directly reimbursed according to your policy. However, this is between you and your insurance company.
For a full explanation, please take a few minutes to read this blog from a fellow chiropractor, Dr Courtney Kahla, to better understand how this decision is actually in your favor!
Do you accept payment from a Health Saving Account (HSA) or a Flex Spending Account (FSA)?
Yes, absolutely! This is different than insurance and is an acceptable form of payment.
